I'm Omallys Hopper, but most people know me as Omi, the founder of the Cookingconomi brand. It all started at the beginning of the quarantine.

I'm a professional makeup artist, and that's how I initially got into social media. However, when the quarantine began, I decided to start filming myself cooking the meals I made at home for my family.

I started just for fun, but I quickly gained traction on social media. Many people enjoyed what I was doing; they wrote to me saying they missed Puerto Rican food, didn't know the recipes, and my videos helped them relive those memories with their families.

This inspired me to keep going with this project, preserving Puerto Rican recipes and keeping those dishes alive.
